The majestic Casa da Torre in S.João has been renovated and transformed into a tourist resort.

Comprising two floors for residential use, it has four bedrooms, one of which is a suite. Each floor has its own bathroom and kitchen, and two families can occupy the house at the same time.

This development is intended for rural tourism - Family.

The family aspect has not been neglected, and anyone with a dog can be accompanied by a kennel prepared to receive them in optimum conditions.

This house is a symbiosis between the architectural past that we want to preserve and the future. Casa da Torre is equipped with ecological technology, such as a wind turbine, solar panels and a system for collecting water in the cistern, which is purified by the fish. Recycling is present through internal and external recycling bins, providing education.

Outside there is an attractive leisure area with a table, barbecue and garden areas.

Built in 1916, Casa da Torre is one of the most beautiful examples of traditional architecture on our island, and is enhanced by the magnificent stonework it contains. From the memory of the house, we can point out that it was the first house in the parish to have electricity from a wind turbine placed in the tower.

Its owner was wealthy and so he bought a radio on the neighboring island of Faial, gathering his neighbors in the store in the evenings to listen to the radio while they entertained themselves with some table games. This radio is still in the house, restored.

From the past to the future, the cistern with the water collected from the rain, the laundry tanks, the rustic atmosphere and the black stone.
