Lava Homes

Lava Homes located on the Traves do Outeiro das Eiras, nº 2A, Terralta, parish of Santo Amaro, municipality of São Roque, island of Pico, the Resort is made up of fourteen accommodation units.

The parish of Santo Amaro is constituted on the north coast of the island 20 km from the county seat and has a mostly rural population of about 300 inhabitants for their hospitality and welcome, attracts more and more tourists and has as its main attractions the natural pools of Portinho and Caisinho and the Furada picnic park. This parish was for centuries the main shipyard of the Azores. There is also the Santo Amaro Regional Craft School. The west view allows observe the whole bay of Santo Amaro ... and allows you to see the top of Pico mountain, in a little day cloudiness. The grounds were chosen for their natural beauty, their flora and the existence of several ruins, which give a picturesque tone to the venture. The venture is crossed along a canada - Caminho da Voltas - which belongs to the Azores Trail - Pico. THE
canada was kept untouched, with the full preservation of the floor and walls. On the grounds are both ruins of old houses, and some ruins of animal pens.
Our positioning includes the conservation of nature, environmental quality and the safeguarding of historical-cultural heritage and local identity. All accommodation units are equipped with photovoltaic panels, heating is done by pellet heaters, cooling is done by ventilation water tanks have been kept for irrigation use, and the drinking water served is local water filtered by an active charcoal system.
